The NB Junior Dragons Tri Club is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members—especially our junior athletes. Ensuring the wellbeing of our youngest participants is a shared responsibility, and it is vital that all members of the club understand and uphold their obligations when interacting with juniors.
As a part of NB Junior Dragons Tri Club, we recognise the importance of child protection in our sport. To this end, the club has implemented a range of safeguarding measures across all areas, including club races, sanctioned training sessions, and online engagement with junior members.
All club members—regardless of their role—are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with relevant child protection policies and guidelines. These include:
In line with best practice, Child Safe Representatives will complete specific child safety training, including the Child Safe Sport eLearning modules. All accredited coaches are also required to undertake additional education as part of their coaching accreditation.
Members seeking to further their understanding of child protection responsibilities can access free training via the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian:

The NB Junior Dragons Tri Club also conducts an annual child safety risk assessment to identify and mitigate potential risks. The most recent assessment can be viewed on the club website. In addition, posters outlining the club’s child safety commitment will be prominently displayed at all club events.
Finally, all Child Safe Representatives, key club personnel, and coaches will hold a current Working With Children Check to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
